Invasive Species Workshop – Animals
Saturday, May 2, 2015
Invasive species are considered the second greatest threat to biodiversity after habitat loss. However, not every animal that comes from a different part of the world represents a threat. In this workshop we will learn to identify invasive animal species that occur in our region and beyond. We will have closer look at their lifestyle and the reasons for their success. In one section of the workshop we will investigate their impact on environment and economy. We will also learn about the best practices for preventing the spread and introduction of invasive species. Participants will receive an information booklet. Guest Instructor: Dirk Steinke. Early Bird Fee: $75. 00 if done on or before Thursday, April 23. Registrations after this date will cost $85.00. Note: If we don't have enough registrations by the early bird deadline the course may be cancelled. Maximum 18 adults.
