Good day,

I am an International student here at UofG, and I'm repsonding to an opinion
letter that stated that international students should pay no more or now less
than it costs to educate us.

Yes, it is true that we do not pay income taxes, but don't we pay indirect taxes
on almost every purchase we make in the Canadian economy? This may not be enough
for the government to subsidise our education, but please do not act as if we're
here just to mooch off the university and the province.

We pay very high tuition, with a good few of us having to deal with difficult
exhange rates.

While I agree that it would not be fair for our tuition to be subidised to the
extent of Canadian citizens, I think that our rates should at least be
partially regulated. We contribute to the system as well.

S.M.
