Bluewater Downs Brock in Gryphon Invitational Opener

Bluewater was led by Mallory Deluce's 2 goals and singles from Jenna McCall, Katie Stewart, Carolyne Prevost and Courtney Kerslake. Brock's Kate Allgood was the only Badger to beat Lisa Plenderleith who turned aside 24 of 25 shots. In nets for Brock making 29 saves was Laura Amadio.

Players of the game were- Jenna McCall for Bluewater and Kate Allgood for Brock.

The Gryphon Invitational resumes tomorrow night as # 7 Guelph takes on # 5 St. F.X. Game time is 7:30 PM at the Gryphon Centre.

Brock Beats Guelph and Bluewater Downs St.F.X. at Gryphon Invitational

Guelph was unable to solve Brock's Player of the Game Sara Kirchner as she stopped 31 of 32 shots in Brock's 4-1 win. Kaitlin Hilliker (Ridgeway, ON) spoiled the shutout bid with 33 seconds to go. Brock scored twice on the power play in the second with goals from Viney and Allgood. Hoogasian and Canham got the others for Brock. Guelph's Hayley Anso (Toronto, ON) was named player of the game for Guelph. Sarah Long (Scarborough, ON) was in nets for Guelph making 18 saves.

In the earlier game Bluewater was paced by Mallory Deluce's two goals as they downed St. F.X 5-2.

Bluewater can claim the Tournament Title with a win over the Host Guelph Gryphons tomorrow evening at 7:30 PM. The early game at 4 PM features the match up between St. F.X. and Brock.
