GUELPH WINS FIRST GAME OF EXHIBITION SEASON

Guelph, ON. - Behind some solid goaltending from Aleisha Lusk (Mitchell, ON) the Guelph Gryphons avenged an earlier 5-2 exhibition loss with a 3-0 victory. Lusk made 28 saves for the shutout, several in the first two periods to keep the
score 0-0 until the offence got on track. Scoring in the third for Guelph was Elaine Dumas (Waterloo, ON), Bianca Kitts (Nepean, ON) and a shorthanded breakaway goal to seal the victory by Nicole Latreille (Nepean, ON). Both teams struggled on the powerplay with Guelph going 0 for 7 and Brock 0 for 8. Guelph had 29 shots on Brock's goaltender Amadio.

Up next for the Gryphons a three road Inter Conference exhibition games against Atlantic Conference. On Friday September 30th, Guelph faces St. Francis Xavier, October 1st Guelph plays Dalhousie, and on October 2nd Guelph will play St. Mary's. These three games will conclude the exhibition season, and the regular season starts October 8th against Queen's at the Gryphon Centre.
