Michelle Moody, a 3rd year Molecular Biology & Genetics student from Newmarket, Ontario, captured the gold in the Women's High Jump event at the OUA Championships. She is one steady competitor and the most likely in any event to stay calm and not disappoint. While many of her competitors succumbed to the pressure of championships jumping, Michelle cooly cleared opening heights, then was clean as the bar was raised and was the last woman standing at 1.76m, an impressive 9cm ahead of second place. This gives Michelle sole possession of the #1 spot in Canada and makes her the clear favourite heading into the CIS Championships in 2 weeks.
Scott van Doormaal
Scott van Doormaal, a 1st year Biological Chemistry student and native of Guelph, Ontario, was the Gryphons' top performer at the CIS Swimming Championships this past weekend at Laval. Scott captured the bronze medal in the 200m Back and led the Gryphs to a 9th place finish overall, up from last year's placing.
