Elysia Desmier

Elysia Desmier, a 2nd year Zoology student, who hails from Ottawa, Ontario, had an impressive 4-point weekend at the OUA Hockey Championships to lead the Gryphons in scoring this weekend. The 5’9” forward scored the lone goal in the 2-1 loss to #2 ranked Laurier. The following day, Elysia added 3 assists, one of which was on the bronze medal game winner. Elysia and her linemates, Elaine Dumas and Brittany Roberts, figured in on all 4 Gryphon goals this weekend and provided some exceptional two way play.

Jamie Cox

Jamie Cox, a 5th year Geography student from Ariss, Ontario, captured the bronze medal at the CIS Wrestling Championships in the 130 kg weight class. In what was a rematch of last year’s CIS final against Concordia, Jamie was unable to pull off the win in a very close match with the first round ending in a 0-0 tie and going to a clinch situation. Despite losing this match, Jamie showed great confidence and handily defeated his opponent from Saskatoon for the bronze medal.
