With the mad descent of about 4,000 new faces on the University of Guelph this coming Sunday, I think it's safe to say that the (relatively) quiet summer days for the CSA on-campus are coming to an end. The busy times have in-fact already begun to settle in, as our Executive gears-up for what is sure to be a fantastic and memorable Orientation Week. We're really excited about the fun and diverse events we've planned for students and hope that you'll come check them out. Here's just a sample of what we plan to offer you in the coming days!

Sunday, September 2: Agents of Chill

“Agents of Change” is the University's O-Week theme, but we think “Agents of Chill” is an equally awesome name. If you aren't intereted in boogying the night away over at the Pep Rally, come join us in the Bullring at 8pm for some free food, live music, and good times.

Monday, September 3: Metric Concert

This is shaping-up to be the most talked-about O-Week event this year! Metric is coming to campus and is guaranteed to put on a great show. Get your tickets from the Orientation Box Offices at Branion and Creelman plazas starting on Sep. 2. Tickets are $18/student, and $23/general.

Tuesday, September 4: Free BBQ & “Doors Open CSA”

Grab a free burger with all the trimmings, then head-up to the 2nd floor UC and get acquainted with your CSA. Our Executive will be there to answer all your questions, and you'll also be able to get a sneak-peek at many CSA clubs and their offices before Club Days. The fun starts in Thornborough Plaza at 4pm.

Tuesday, September 4: Hypnotist Mike Mendel

Prepare to get hypnotized - or just have fun watching, as the legendary hypnotist Mike Mandel performs for your enjoyment. Get your tickets for only $8 a pop at the O-Week Box Office in Branion and Creelman plazas starting Sep. 2.

Wednesday, September 5: Speaker Dr. Anne-Marie Zajdlik

At 6:30pm, Come on down to Rozanski 103 and see what the Masai Campaign sweeping the Guelph campus is all about. Dr. Anne-Marie Zajdlik of the Masai Centre is here to spread a message of hope and action - learn how to impact your world and discover what making a difference can do. You can pre-register for this great opportunity on the University's REG system, by visiting http://www.uoguelph.ca/studentaffairs/reg

Thursday, September 6 & Friday, September 7: Day Planner Give-a-Way

Come and get a head-start on your year by picking-up your free CSA Dayplanner in Branion Plaza.

This year the CSA is working hard to get our name and services out to students. Feel free to email us at or drop-by our offices in Room 274 UC to chat and share your ideas.

From what I've heard, same as last year where you can just use a student card without a sticker until the end of frosh week.
