Hello Undergrads!

Please read the information below on how to get a summer bus pass.

If you are NOT taking courses in the summer you will have to apply for one of the thirty summer bus passes Guelph Transit allows the Central Student Association (CSA) to distribute. You must be a returning student to qualify for one of these thirty summer bus passes. Opt-In application forms for these thirty summer bus passes are available at csaonline.ca starting April 3rd, 2009 and are due no later than Thursday April 23rd, 2009 at 4:00 PM to the CSA Front Office (UC 274). You can also pick up an opt-in application form at the CSA front office starting April 3rd . You will be contacted by May 6th, 2009 to inform you of your application status.

If you ARE taking an on-campus course, you will be charged for the summer bus pass in your student fees and do not need to fill out an application form. You can pick up your summer bus pass from May 7th-28th , 2009 at the CSA Front Office (UC 274) from 9:00am -12:00pm and 1:00pm - 4:00pm. Please bring your student card as we cannot give you a pass without it. If you are taking exclusively distance education courses or if you are a COOP student you can purchase a summer bus pass and do not need to fill out an application form. Please bring $60.71 (cash or cheque) to the CSA Office (UC 274) to pick up your summer bus pass starting May 7th and ending May 28th, 2009 from 9:00am- 12:00pm and 1:00pm-4:00pm. Please bring your student card as we cannot give you a pass without it.

If you cannot pick up your pass during those times please email the Local Affairs Commissioner at to arrange an alternative time.

Please email with any questions.

There are still only 30 passes available again this summer?!? Come on, I thought you kids were going to fix this! I always submit an application but never get a pass.

I guess you really don’t have any leverage with Guelph Transit. Who’s the dog and who’s the tail? I think we all know the answer.

lol, the 30 bus passes usually go to the CSA commissioners close friends who mill about guelph over the summer.

Then again not like I can blame them, anybody who's been on the CSA for a year is burnt out from being public enemy #1, and it's an easy way to stick it to the people.

How do you know that the bus passes "usually go to the CSA commissioners close friends who mill about guelph over the summer"?

If your allegations are true, they certainly should be investigated.

    re: wondering

...because csa commissioners know how the csa and the system of handing out bus passes work. you don't need to be a student during the summer to get a bus pass.

what you do is you sign up for 3 or 4 courses at the beginning of the semester, prove you're enrolled in school, receive your bus pass sticker during the first week, then drop out. all without paying a dime!

it's beautiful isn't it? that's what the human and finance commissioner told me to do last winter semester.
