The Guelph Chamber Choir’s 2011/2012 season continues with a choral evening exploring memories of places, people and songs we love, entitled Remember on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 8 pm in the warm and relaxed setting of Harcourt Memorial United Church

The evening’s music will evoke past experiences, moving from folk songs to spirituals to Broadway show tunes and cabaret songs.

Thematically, the night will be divided into pieces that celebrate our Northern clime, childhood, faith and redemption, justice and freedom as well as friends and good times together.

It will also mark the official launch date of Guelph Chamber Choir’s fifth CD recording “Remember”, also based on these themes.

Conductor Gerald Neufeld commented, “Music touches the core of our being, opening us to memories forgotten and possibilities undreamed. Hearts may soften, political zeal be inflamed, and souls fed by beauty and love. ”

Members of the choir have been invited to display their solo talents with Broadway and cabaret performances of their own choosing.  The evening will provide a variety of solos and pieces performed by the chorus together.

Single tickets are now available for only $20 each or 4 or more for only $15. Those 30 and Under and University students are welcomed with $10 tickets.  High school students (and those age 14 and under) can attend for only $5 through eyeGO.

Single tickets are available through choir or board members, through the River Run Centre by calling 519-763-3000 or online at www.riverrun.ca - or at the door.

Special thanks to our concert sponsor, The Kitchener and Waterloo Foundation, Ken Murray Fund and to our soloist sponsors, Ellison Travel and Tours and Neil S. Mathieson, CGA.
