Garbage bags, brooms, squeegees, rags and window cleaning solution in hand, nine students made their way down Princess Street early Saturday morning with a single message for the city: Thank you!
The event was organized by the current president of the ArtSci ’06 graduating class, John-Andrew Pankiw-Petty, as an attempt to demonstrate the gratitude and appreciation of Queen’s students to the businesses, stores and people of Kingston.

“The Queen’s University experience isn’t confined solely to the classroom and campus,” Pankiw-Petty told the Journal. “It is very much enhanced by our experiences in the community and the lovely people in town.”

The group of students began at approximately 10 a.m. at the 7-11 convenience store at Alfred Street and continued down Princess on both sides, ending at approximately 3 p.m. at City Hall.
