We caught up with some graduating Gryphons at Grad Launch 2015. Check out their responses below!

Anthony

CANNON: What are your plans after graduation?

I’m going to go to Queens for my masters’ in Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management, hopefully to be a consultant, looking at corporate social responsibility and some facets that interact with human resources. I’m pretty excited for the challenge.

CAN: If you could give some advice to your first-year self, what would you say?

Don’t go to too many parties. Buckle down and make sure you get those grades up, but also make sure you have fun in the process. Make a lot of friends.

Claire

CAN: What are your plans after graduation?

I don’t have any school plans, but I am working in some sort of job! This summer I’m working, maybe traveling. If I could travel anywhere it would be Australia, 110%! I’ve never been and I think it’s a really nice country, so I want to go there.

CAN: If you could give some advice to your first-year self, what would you say?

Don’t worry about your grades as much; they’re not as important as you think they are. Don’t worry as much about the future, because it all ends up working out.

Tegan

CAN: What are your plans after graduation?

I’m going home for the summer to work, and then hopefully finding a job that’s kind of in my field, at some point, and then eventually hoping to do my masters’. I’m in Psychology so I’m looking to get a job in Toronto, doing some kind of research position.

CAN: If you could give some advice to your first-year self, what would you say?

I would tell my first-year self to get things figured out a lot faster than I actually did. It took me a long time to get into this university mindset and figure out my life. Try and figure out what you need to do and then try not to sweat it, you’ll be fine!

Marzie

CAN: What are your plans after graduation?

I want to go on exchange and get some international work experience. I plan on doing it in the fall, as opposed to the summer.

CAN: If you could give some advice to your first-year self, what would you say?

Try more new things, and appreciate the time in residence because that’s never going to happen again.

Karen

CAN: What are your plans after graduation?

This summer I’m starting a year-long internship in the Netherlands, which was facilitated through AISEC so that’s really exciting.

CAN: If you could give some advice to your first-year self, what would you say?

Recognize the kind of people you want to be friends with and foster those relationships, and don’t be afraid to leave behind the people who don’t bring anything to your life.

Alexandra

CAN: What are your plans after graduation?

I’m planning to go on a working holiday in Australia.

CAN: If you could give some advice to your first-year self, what would you say?

Ask a lot of questions! Experience everything.

Peter

CAN: What are your plans after graduation?

When I graduate I’m flying to Bangkok, and then go to Indonesia and surf. Then I’ll be starting a sales leadership role.

CAN: If you could give some advice to your first-year self, what would you say?

Work hard, don’t stress. Take every opportunity that you can, and run with it. But also know that everything will work out as long as you have a positive attitude

Barbara

CAN: What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation my plan is to apply to a program in digital media, so that I can learn more about digital software and then from there, I want to start in the digital marketing field.

CAN: If you could give some advice to your first-year self, what would you say?

It’s not just about getting a result, it’s also about enjoying the ride.

Congratulations to all grads, and best of luck in your future endeavours!
