To All Undergraduate Students:
Do you have a penchant for writing essays and a passion for feminist theory? Do you want to voice your views about gender or sexuality in our society? Are you burning to critically examine intersections of race and ability with gender? Are you an undergraduate student? If you said yes to any/all of these questions, then Footnotes wants to hear from you!
Footnotes is the University of Guelph’s Undergraduate Feminist Journal and is currently seeking submissions for its fifth edition, which will be published in the winter semester. Footnotes is an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their academic work. Essays dealing with topics such as feminism, race or queer theory, identity politics, class systems, marginalization, etc. are welcome, as well as discussion of other topics through these analytical lenses. Your essays do not need to be written for a Women’s Studies class – we welcome essays from all disciplines! We will also consider literature review submissions!
Questions and/or submissions can be emailed to: . Papers can be up to 3000 words in length and should use Chicago style citations. Papers should not have been published previously or be up for publication in another journal. If your paper is accepted, you will be expected to be engaged and punctual with the editing process, and you will also be expected to write an abstract and a bio.
Deadline for submissions is January 20th , 2012. Footnotes will be published at the end of the winter semester when we will be having our famed and fabulous launch party.
