Focus on Nature Volunteer Training starts Monday, September 26th!

Focus on Nature is currently recruiting and training volunteers for our school-based program. A Guelph-based, non-profit organization, Focus on Nature was created to inspire young people to explore and appreciate nature through photography.

We deliver workshops in local schools and at special events to cultivate kids’ love and respect for the natural world, and to give kids from all “walks of life” the chance to learn photography, and to express themselves creatively.

We’re looking for energetic individuals who can support delivery of our photography workshops and outdoor experiential learning activities. No experience is required, although an interest in photography, the outdoors, and teaching are an asset.

Volunteers can assist at our full-day workshops, or for the afternoon session. There might be opportunities in the future to help lead the occasional Saturday or after school workshop.

Training starts this coming Monday, September 26th (5 – 9pm) and continues on Monday, October 3rd (5 – 9 pm) at 123 Woolwich Street, 2nd Floor.

All program volunteers will be asked to obtain a police record check, and information about this process will be provided at our first training session.

Please contact Shirley Hunt, Program Director, if you are interested in volunteering or would like more information about our program: or 519-803-6067.  You can also learn more about us by visiting www.focusonnature.ca.
