U of G students given a chance to cut down textbook costs next semester

Written by Stephanie Rennie

As the fall semester winds down, students are either studying for exams or taking a “brief” break from studying as they check their Facebook and update their friends on how tedious this exam period truly is.

During my own prolonged study break, I stumbled across an opportunity to use my Facebook break on something that could actually benefit my bank account and my studies next semester. The Co-op Bookstore has launched a new Facebook page and is inviting students to “like” the page in order to win one of five $100 Co-op Bookstore gift certificates.

At this time of year most students are in denial that after a much needed winter break, a new semester and a new load of textbooks await us. Since all University of Guelph students are going to be facing the same task of purchasing new textbooks next month, this is a great opportunity to check out the student-run bookstore on campus and to enter to win a gift certificate that will shave down the expense of textbooks in January.

The contest will run until January 5th 2012, so take a moment during your study break to check out and “like” the Co-op Bookstore’s new Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Co-op-Bookstore-Guelph/191959320890797
