Challenge to ban pesticides

According to a Green Party media release Guelph Green candidate Ben Polley is pleased that the Ontario Liberals have adopted a policy against "cosmetic pesticides." The release quotes Polley as saying "We're always happy when a party in power adopts one of our policies. It is another example of the real difference the Green Party makes."

Guelph, this year, passed a by-law that aims to phase out the use of cosmetic pesticides in about three years. The Green Party has been stating that a pesticide ban is the next reasonable step as many communities, like Guelph, have already put their own bans in place. On Thursday, Mr. Polley also challenged the other parties to make pledges as the Ontario Liberals have.
