Undergraduates students elected two candidates to serve on the University of Guelph's highest decision-making body.

According to returns from the University Secretariat, Guillaume Blais and Martin Straathof finished first and second, respectively, to fill the two undegraduate seats on the University's Board of Governors.

This will be Blais's second term on the BoG.

Pending ratification by the Board of Governors, Blais and Straathof will begin their one-year terms on July 1, 2011.

Accoridng to the Secretariat, 2191 undegraduate cast ballots online this year's election.

Official returns procided by the University Secretariat are provided below. Please note: each voter could select two candidates, so percentiles add to more than 100 per cent.

Callaghan, Robin                   459       (20.95%)

Leyte-Jammu, Joshua          391       (17.85%)

McManus, Molly                   558       (25.47%)

Merali, Zamir                         515       (23.51%)

Straathof, Martin           569      (25.97%)

Zaki, Ali                                   299      (13.65%)

    Just a quick correction.. Student reps only have a 1 year terms, not 2. A student can only serve on the board for a maximum of 2 years
