Elysia Desmier, Women's Hockey

Elysia, a third-year Science student from Ottawa, Ontario, proved she could lead her team as she scored the overtime game winning goal against the Western Mustangs in the Gryphons 5-4 playoff game on Saturday in London. The win advances the Gryphons into the OUA women's hockey final four playoffs, hosted by Western this weekend. The third-year forward is second in scoring on the Gryphons offense with eight goals this season (8G, 5A). The Gryphons will face the Laurier Golden Hawks on Saturday, March 10 at 12:30 p.m. in the semi-finals.

James Cako, Wrestling

James, a Masters student from Elora, Ontario captured the bronze medal this past weekend at the CIS Championships in Saskatoon in the men's 61kg weight class. After losing a heart breaking third round to last year's CIS champion from Concordia University, James was able to dominate all his other three opponents outscoring them 37-0 combined. James also grabbed the OUA gold medal
